Dagmar Filípková
Dagmar Filípková (* 1960) is an example of the fact that there is no restriction for a creative being, no insurmountable handicap – she paints, plays in theatrical performances or captures the course of her life in a diary. After trying out various art techniques, she found her most natural expression thanks to oil pastels, which well meet her need to densely layer colored surfaces and at the same time give rise to every stroke in the drawing.
Although her works are more reminiscent of dream landscapes, Dagmar Filípková usually chooses places or architecture that are very precisely determined: she finds them on postcards, calendars and textbooks, on pictures from the Internet, but of course also in memories of her own travels. Sometimes she even writes down the place she has chosen in her paintings with a distinctive handwriting. However, she does not burden herself with any descriptiveness, she always chooses from reality only what he considers really important. She has an extraordinary feeling for color transitions and shades, and each of her paintings bears her unique mood thanks to the specially chosen colors. Based on Dagmar Filípková’s diaries, a theatre performance was created, which was staged in November 2013 under the title “Dáša, get up!” by the Prague Inventura Theatre (now the Ujeto Theatre). The author was cast in the main role. In 2020, she also recorded her diaries as a podcast – an audiobook in continuation. In addition, she has performed in several other theatre productions at Ujeto Theatre.
